Within the NFI, the NFI Academy is responsible for the transfer of knowledge and expertise to various target groups. The NFI Academy combines its professional training advice with the NFI’s casework, research and development (R&D), and its state-of-the-art techniques.
Expert knowledge transfer
The NFI professionals that perform the work at a crime scene or in a lab are also the ones who teach others about these skills. This guarantees first-hand knowledge transfer.
The NFI has approximately 30 areas of investigation, ranging from toxicology and pathology to digital technology. The courses can therefore have a broad nature, or zoom in on a specific theme. Moreover, they can be customised in consultation with the client.
In order to make the NFI’s training sessions, courses and conventions a success, the NFI Academy cooperates with leading training centres.
Target group
The NFI Academy provides educational services to professionals in the forensic chain, both nationally and internationally, such as:
- first-line emergency services ('first responders') and the medical sector
- forensic investigations staff
- magistracy
- criminal lawyers
- students attending forensic training at universities and universities of applied sciences
