Preventing CBRNe incidents

Accelerating globalisation – driven by greater travel opportunities, more open borders, widespread migration and far-reaching digitisation – means that the activities of criminals and terrorists are also increasingly global.

As a result, government agencies (such as law enforcement, regulators, customs and intelligence services) are finding that their paths cross ever more frequently. More importantly, they are also finding that timely cooperation can lead to the prevention of up-coming crimes or attacks.

On the basis of its own experience, the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) can advise governments on efficient and effective ways of promoting cooperation among government agencies in order to pre-empt potential chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear incidents (including where explosives are used to disseminate the agents).
